The Lights Start To Dim At State House

The situation room at a State House is in a downturn for the worse. Panic is setting in amongst the most Loyal supporters of James Michel ( President Elect Under Contest). While fall out becomes the order of the day, and the President loses control over his people, the ministries are non responsive to the day to day problems, and bureaucrats are declaring themselves "King in Absentia".

Election Petition Judgment

The election petition judgment is due to be released this week.
The case against the the Office of the Election commissioner is potent, enough to render the results of the last election Null and Void. The key issue is the : low burden of proof Election petitions have under Commonwealth laws. A petition has to show only a few cases of misconduct, and the court will legally impute a compound of cases as being misconduct, because the nature of fraud, is to deceive in the first place.

Null and Void Means New Elections

The pressure at State House is bearing down because of the anxiety over the election petition decision. This judgment is bending the nerves of Michel's inner circle. Some are applying for exile papers in Australia. The whole situation is unravelling fast. Two (2) ministers it is leaked have submitted resignations already, a third is on the way. The resignations are being held, until the judgment, or next elections. Mr. Michel cannot afford to give the Public any impression that people are leaving his inner circle at this time, even if they may be there in body, but in spirit they have long departed.

Problem Is lack of Effective Management

James Michel has had an incredible political career, when you span his career since 1977. Some will say his career has been infamous. From the coup run in 1977, to his era as minister in a one party state that ushered in Communism into Seychelles, to the multiparty era in 1992 onwards, that had the window dressing of Democracy, but the back rooms hung signs of oligarchy. Twenty five years of cronyism has taken its toll on the PL regime image.

Islands sold for SCR. 1.0. Fast food restaurants built over a river for the family of the Lands minister, selective and preferable leases and tax concessions for the oligarchy families for mega hotels and resorts. Public islands, becoming private islands, the abuse has been incredible and even fantastic. No country in the World could compare the level of pillage that has taken place in Seychelles by comparison to population size.

Michel has suffered on and on, like a wounded lion, trekking through the jungles with his Pharaohic inability to manage the government ministries effectively. Letters are written to State House and they go unanswered. Mr. Michel has handlers that make sure he does not receive all mail, but only some mail. Emails are sent to State House and not acknowledged. This practice is similar in numerous ministries. Phone calls to Principal Secretaries are made and not replied. Email between Minister of Lands to CEO of Planning are claimed not to be received. Yet when the mail is forwarded again, the CEO replies, " I know nothing about this", but the mail stares at him.

Consequently, problems are being resolved on crisis resolution basis only. For this, you have to fall back on the Vice President's office, who slogs it out every day, like a dedicated soldier, thrashing through the chaos on and on, as it arises.

Will he be able to treat the dry rot at this stage, only time will tell.

Master of Ceremony and Stages

In spite of this mountain of chaos in the background, Mr. Michel has remained loyal to the stage and the presidential ceremonies at all cost to retain presidential air and flare.
After the contested Presidential a Elections, he rushed the swearing in ceremony on a Sunday, electing not to do it on Monday. He dragged the Chief Justice out from her Sunday picnic and had her attest to the Oath.
Michel invited UN Secretary General Ban kik Moon to Seychelles, all expense paid, no expenditure spared. He rolled out the Rolls Royce for him, and whisked him about for 24 hours.
He called the National Assembly to session for the photo prop on a Sunday again. This seems to be his version of work for his rank and file. Unfortunately, they do little more then fill seats and offer plates of Kankan for SBC.

The level of debate in the National Assembly has reached an all time historical low. It is sad to watch.

Door To Door
Who can miss the door to door. For a man of Michel's age trekking door to door, even if it is staged, it is incredible, but it is also very sad. Michel is hanging on to dear political life, to the most remote straws he can place his hands on. His time is spent, his best days gone, there is no other stage set to play, they have all been played. He can only beg the people for mercy and beg The Lord for the same........in his political hour of his...........

Plato: " Yee, Yee, you self loving leaders of Greece, be mindful, all power emanates from the People, and all power goes back to the people".

Michel's Prayer

Oh St. Michel Archangel saint of warriors in the name of Christ, pray for us.
Oh St. Michel Archangel, saint of the courageous, strengthen us to face our enemy as he faces us
Cast the shadow of defeat unto him,
That he may fall to his knees to rid his people of the plight he has inherited and passed on to us.
Oh St. Michel Archange set this king free or bondage, of his past, pardon him his offense, as The Lord Has taught us to pardon him.
Oh St. Michel Archange Parson this king, for he has walked in the shadow of death and he has witness the spilling of the blood of his brothers and sisters and keeps, harbors these memories in his heart.
Oh St. Michel Archange invoke the. Holy Spirit unto our country, let her heal, let the king of kings be gone, with his gross examples that has destroyed our people.
Let us live once more.

Michel is a totally confused and tormented, old, grey man full of sleep.Worse he is close to virtual insanity.
Beyong the Statehouse fences and gates,Michel has built a reputation for being unwavering, stubborn and indomitable. He views the world from his own unique perspective, for,an old man he has seized a lot of power to himself, but not within those high walls surrounding him.
By all appereances, the, aged autocrat has lost control of those nearesr and dearest to him.In fact,he is in the danger of both being condemnded to an inglorious and to his long career and humiliated by his own system.

It is the moment in play where Michel is left alone to face the consequences of his actions and inactions, engulfed by personal wrath. His lust for power is replaced by weakness .He is empty.

As public opposition to Michel grows, his partys royalty less, assured. Not is it flatters, that could spot the end,not only of Michels throne, but the unity of his party
Pl as,a party,at this point would soon have to confront this issues:would they keep on carrying michel and loss more voters, and supporters for the sake of michel?

Al of this happenings could have turned out so much different if Michel had initiated a dialogue and unite the country.

What, after, all,is political leadership to not thexability~~no the instinct~~to read moments, seized opportunities and rise to occassions? All abilities our elderly President lack in abundance, and an instinct he clearly does not have.

Michel after the last rlections failed to walkcin the footsteps of Mandela. He could have a second chance by walking in the last footstep of Fidel Castros. The latter, prior to handing over power to his brother Raul Castros said“My wishes have, always been to discharge my duties to my last breath. But it would be,a betrayal of my conscience to accept responsibility requiring more mobilitx and dedication than i am physically able to offer“Michel might not be physically anable but political dried up.He is,at his sunset.

Whrn Mr St Ange took the ministry of tourism it was broken in to pieces. For much of the past years as minister,Mr St,Ange attention and devotion has been focused on rebuilding Seychelles Tourism industry, eventually helps turn it into one of the most successful industry.
Perhaps, this is ehy Mr St Ange has reletively been quiet compared with his peers who are vyi.g for the top position to enjoy the fruits of his harvest.Perhaps,it just the ministers nature. As the saying goes“the worse part of success is trying to find someone who is hapy for you“
Rrnesta, moral indignation,is a jealousy with a halo.Thr chains that keep u bound to the past are not the actions of another person. They are anger, jealousy and blaming otherd for ur choice. The success of Mr St Ange,a natural leader that motivate others and lead a team towards success. In the ever~changing society, the most powerful and enduring brands are built from the heart. They are real and sustainable.Thrir foundations are stronger because they, are built with the strength of human spirit.
Mr St Ange is the only Minister in the government with the recipe for success. So let the farmer that labors be the first partaker of the fruits of his hardwork.
U have let us with broken faith, broken promise, and a broken country and the state of the countrys economy would have been in disaray without st,Ange hardwork.Instead of being jealous of Mr St,Ange, appreciate by the people, tell us why you the rest still keep failing.

Colonel Ernesta has made a fatal error to attack Alain St. Ange over the SCR. 100,000.00 cheque drawn on Beachcomber.

He should apologize before he compromises himself more, and end up being ridiculed.

Having noticed smoke, there must be fire !

Minister St Ange, should not worry if he is innocent. Maybe this cheque of 100k is for genuine services rendered or supply of goods. He may even be a paid consultant to the Beachcomber Group. Who knows ? Its only right and correct for Minister to come clean and explain his position. Once he explains himself, assuming his explanation is acceptable, we can hopefully put this matter to bed. However, the longer he remains silent on this matter, the more suspicious we become.

Mr Ernesta has nothing to worry if this cheque did ever exist. Mr Ernesta has to worry if he manufactured this cheque. The accounts office staff at St Anne resort responsible to leak this cheque must be history by now, they must be searching for a new job.

St. Ange is not the issue. The issue is a Publisher and Editor trigger happy.
Colonel Ernesta if he was smart and responsible, given St. Ange role as primary Public Relations man for promoting Seychelles, and the key to the viability of our economy, should have approached St. Ange and seek clarification on the matter. He then should have given St. Ange reasonable time to clarify the matter before going to press on the issue.
If you put Colonel Ernesta next to St. Ange and compare their careers and balance that with corruption, Colonel Ernesta will break the scales for corruption and victimization, abuse of human rights.
He should have reflected, and not forget, many people have pardoned him, if today, he can run the Weekly.

The pardon is not a license to act recklessly without due responsible reflection.

Who builds the fire? Who makes the smoke.
Ernesta is a master of deception, a conundrum, of pent up hate, negative energy, animosity, jealousy because he has fallen from Grace from his eloquent post of chief of staff of SPDF plus Commissioner of Police at the same time.
This was fine at the time for Ernesta. This was NOT corruption?
In any other country Ernesta would be in jail for 25 years.
Now we await the minister to clarify the matter. We trust Minister to do the right thing.

Renesta must be rememberred that ehen he points a finger at St Ange,he should remember that four fingers are pointed at him. When one makes an accusation check to be sure he himself is not the guilty one.Sometimes it those whose case is weak who make the most clamour.U a loser Ernesta, and stop witnessing with ur mouth when u donot see with ur eyes.
Did u complain when The Audit Genral Mr Benstrong, made public a decade ago when Sr 100,000 was missing in the SDPF coffers, robbed by back then chief~of~staff colonel Clifford.?

Indeed, I could not agree with last comment more.
Ernesta is the last person who can point the finger towards anyone.
I hold my tongue with pliers .
But on the matter of his lack of professionalism as an Editor -
When presented with the check, Ernests should have called St. ange or written him asking for clarification on the matter given that he is a Public Figure, in spite of being paid out on appearance a private check vs a public disbursement.
Ernesta as an Editor, should the. Have give. st. ange reasonable time to reply and clarify the matter.

Instead he weasel with a question mark on the front page of weekly, with caption: is St. ange Corrupt? "

This caption couple with the check photo is defamatory by innuendo.

St. Ange has been slandered clearly given the private payment was made for his e turbo account to promote Besch comber, which he has been the agent in Seychelles since 2007.

This is not the first time Ernesta has flopped about. But it is the first time he has attacked our national bread and butter directly.

Mr. Ernesta, do you realize how many businesses owned by Seychellois you threaten put to risk when you make a false statement against St. Ange?

Reflect a little and you will know why you have the Tourism Industry mad and irate towards you.

Yes we are mad. We are very mad.

Mr. Gill you hit the nail right on the head. I have been a public servant for many years and resigned.
I could not take it anymore. The president cannot manage his ministers. They all do as they please. In cabinet when difficult issues were address I witness it myself - he will pass the responsibility to decisions on to others. He does lack management skills. Files do remain pending for years. At times it is on purpose to ser people or prevent them from progressing. Other times he thinks the person is not important enough to merit a reply. At times he protects certain families at all cost such as the Savy family. Here remember air Seychelles bankruptcy. The company went bankrupt because of cheap tickets and kick backs on a key player. Michel did nothing about it.
I comemd you for being honest about this situation. I know too well your family. Has been tsrgeted by James Michel, he has hurt your family deliberately and I know all about it. The land use plan on Praslin made most of your land useless along with Talma. I assure you this was not a mistake. There are other incidents that happen to you under orders from Mr. Michel. I will tell you about these incidents when I meet you.
